In an Instagram statement, Syeda Toba Anwar shared, "With a heavy heart, I want to let people know about the progress that is being made in my life. My close family and friends are aware that after 14 months of separation, it became clear that there was no hope for reconciliation and that I had chosen to take khula out of court.
"I cannot describe how difficult it was, but I trust in God and His plans. I will appeal to everyone to respect my decision in these trying times," the statement said.
